OUR PROGRAMS

Once Cotler Health Care has established a community agreement to provide services for the clients, Dr. Cotler educates key staff members regarding our “identification of need” procedures.  One or more trained Licensed Psychologists (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) are carefully chosen to provide services, and copies of their license and liability insurance are provided.

After a person in need is identified, and the information has been submitted to our office, we check the insurance, including calls to managed care companies to obtain pre-authorization.  Guardians are contacted by the Cotler administrative team to provide them with the details about our therapist and program and to obtain signed consents.

Our therapist first conducts an initial assessment/evaluation to determine both the specific needs of the client, and the appropriateness of treatment.  Based on the diagnosis, an individual treatment plan is developed which addresses the psychological status and cognitive level of functioning in many areas, including but not limited to:

Individual counseling is typically provided by our therapists twice weekly for brief sessions or once a week for a standard length session, depending on the individual needs and tolerance level of the individual.  The progress of each resident is monitored with each clinical contact and a formal review of treatment goals and objectives is conducted quarterly.

COVID-19 ALERT

During the COVID-19 public health emergency, Cotler clinicians are our most valuable resource.  We are proud of our many clinician heroes who have bravely helped to fight the battle by continuing to serve patients on the front line!  In addition, we support and encourage the adoption of telehealth services when clinically feasible in our partner communities.  As on-site in-person services continue to grow, proper use of PPE, in collaboration with each facility’s protocol, will be in place to protect our team, our clients, and the community at large.
